In principle, an air conditioning system can be retrofitted in a car. However, this is normally a very complex process that has to be carried out by a professional workshop.

The active combination filter is an important component of the ventilation system in your Volkswagen. If the filter is dirty or blocked, the air in the vehicle interior can no longer be sufficiently cleaned. This may cause components of the air conditioning system to become contaminated by fungi and bacteria, which may lead to unpleasant odours.

A heavily clogged air filter impedes the air supply and therefore prevents cleaner, more efficient and trouble-free combustion. For your car, this means a reduced engine performance and potentially higher fuel consumption.

A blocked oil filter may result in increased fuel consumption, reduced engine performance and, in the worst-case scenario, engine damage.

Since it functions like a sieve, it can become clogged over time. That’s why it should be changed on a regular basis. Your Volkswagen Dealer will gladly change the filter according to the service interval.

That depends on the filter. Air, oil and active combination filters have different functions and different maintenance intervals. Since filters are wear parts, they should be checked in accordance with the service interval.
