In principle, it is possible to install an air conditioning system in a car later on down the line. However, it’s a very complex and costly process that should be carried out in a professional workshop.

The allergen filter is an important component of the ventilation system in your Volkswagen. If the filter is dirty or blocked, the air in the vehicle interior can no longer be cleaned properly. This may cause certain components of the air conditioning system to become contaminated with mould and bacteria, which can produce an unpleasant odour.

A heavily clogged air filter prevents a proper air supply and thus clean, efficient and smooth-running combustion. For your car, this means a reduced engine performance and possibly increased fuel consumption.

The consequences of a blocked oil filter can be increased fuel consumption, reduced engine performance and, in the worst case scenario, damage to the engine.

It depends on the filter. Air, oil and allergen filters perform different functions and have different maintenance intervals. However, since filters are wear parts, you should have them checked in accordance with the service intervals. Information on the next service appointment is available, for example, in your Service Interval Display or the multimedia system. If you are unsure about anything, simply ask our service advisers.
