Volkswagen Teases its Limited-Edition Polo Vivo GT Concept at SA Festival of Motoring

Presented by Volkswagen Group Africa’s Nitin Bhikha, the brand was keen to point out the Polo Vivo GT Concept’s links to cars like the original Golf GTI and Citi Golf Velocity derivative, while acknowledging Wolfsburg’s modern design language, including on the modern GTI offerings.
“We wanted to do something special for local VW fans, capturing the rich heritage of the German brand’s hot hatch legacy, using the proudly South African Polo Vivo as a platform,” explained Nitin.

Displayed in Deep Black Pearl, the Vivo GT Concept dons 17-inch Bright Machine Serron alloy wheels, which pair with a silver finish on both the side mirror housings and interior centre console. The car’s B- and C pillars are finished in gloss black, while red-painted front bumper fins complement faded-effect metallic side decals. This decal theme is continued on the tailgate, where the car carries GT branding in the same font and position as the GTI badge on this car’s famous flagship siblings. The Concept is fitted with a WRC-inspired tailgate-mounted spoiler.
