Touareg Safety
Safety has always been an integral part of the Touareg’s make up. Driver and passenger airbags are standard (along with side-impact and side-curtain airbags), as well as ABS and the electronic stabilisation programme (ESP). The electronic differential lock (EDL), hydraulic brake assist (HBA) and anti-spin regular (ASR) further add to the Touareg`s driving systems. Your safety, as always, comes first.
- Roll-over sensor.
- Specially engineered rigid safety cells.
- Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).
- Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP).
- Front airbags activate at two levels of intensity and the front passenger airbag can be switched off to fit a baby seat.
- Side-impact and side curtain protection airbags.
- All five Touareg seats have three-point seat-belts and the outer four have electronic tensioners.
- ISOFIX fasteners in the back row allow child-seats to be perfectly attached.
- The Touareg’s aluminium bonnet and flexible plastic front wings cause less harm to smaller cars and pedestrians in the event of a collision.
- In the event of an accident, the Touareg automatically unlocks the doors, disconnects the battery and turns on the warning flashers.
