This is one of the most spectacular and entertaining racing formulas in the country. A one-make championship, it has seen young drivers like Tschops Sipuka, Scott Bricknell, Graeme Nathan and Michael Stephen competing against crafty veterans like Derrick Irving (a former World Kart Champion), Neil Stephen, Marthinus Briers and others.
It is always the biggest single entry for any race meeting. Close competition, clean racing and the fact that the cars are technically compatible, make the Engen Volkswagen Cup even more exciting as it is only driver skill that determines the winner.
The formula offers various subsidised parts and sponsorship support, as well as fuel and lubricants from Engen to each competitor, and travel and start assistance from Volkswagen Group South Africa.
It is also the most cost-effective racing category in the country, and we welcome all competitors interested in National level racing, who are between the ages of 15 and 27 years, to join this exciting formula. A Volkswagen Masters Cup has been formulated for competitors who are over the age of 27 years.
In order to race in this exciting series, a competitor must be a member of the Engen Volkswagen Cup Association, and hold a National Racing Licence.
